Well said, man. I do this too, and your writing drove me nostalgic. Back when my mobile was cheap and monophonic, I used MSword to document important text from both incoming and sent folders. I still keep my old text logs, 3 years back. My family mocked me endlessly for displaying symptoms of OCD.

Then I bought a fancier phone with 2GB memory, and nearly lost the need to rewrite the important text messages.

Maybe that's why I understand the idea behind Twitter: an excuse for vulgar display of OCD.

Thanks for the comment, Amit. We all have some experiences of re-thinking things. I thought I'd share one of my regular rituals just to get the views of others on the whole process, and how it relates to what they do. So far I'm hearing some interesting reactions, even if everyone isn't directly commenting here.

On the side note, I had no idea SO MANY people were running the World Domination race! Must run harder! ;)

Hey Samir,

I read intently through your article. Like you (maybe not) I keep evaluating myself at irregular yet short intervals and till the last year never made good of the eminent possibilities that those evaluations brought. Its a little embarrassing to admit it, but I wouldn't have worked on them till forced into a corner. I can only say that I'm glad evaluating myself beforehand came in handy once the situation arose. I think I'm doing better mentally (not financially) but then its only a matter of time to world domination.
