To clarify, nothing in this article means that I personally don't believe in global warming — I was trying to point out the inherent cynicism many have for these sort of issues. But, I do see your point about global warming capturing the lion's share of the attention, when there might be other important matters that are ignored.

Thanks for reading and good to know you enjoyed the article.

Wow, you did very well to convince me why you dont believe in global warming. Before I read you post, myself dont accept that global warming is a big issue. There are other pressing environmental issues that need attention than global warming.

I will feature your post in my website in the near future. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Best regards,

Agree with you 100% Ian.
What it comes down to is that we human beings are generally a lazy bunch, and worse we also seem to be hypocritical on a genetic level. I can't see how else you can explain our need to always point the finger at someone else and what THEY are doing wrong.

Seemingly "environmentally friendly" citizens will act all hot and bothered when they see a car on the road with visible exhaust fumes, yet those same people would have left a few of their decorative bulb-laden chaldeliers on when they left home.

If only the species could replace it's penchant for taking offense and being appalled with a minor attraction for individual responsibility ... well, then we wouldn't be having this discussion.

People really don't want to change what they have and it goes through all things in life.

Back in England there was uproar about Foxhunting a few years back and it got banned. People were saying 'How could you be so cruel to let all them dogs chase one fox, it's the worst form of cruelty'. Yet when I said (being a vegetarian) that eating standard supermarket chicken was just as cruel as fox hunting everyone disagreed with me (in my opinion batery chickens are as cruel as any blood sport). People are quick to point the finger at others except themselves.

The government should do more about Global Warming, etc etc! That's the kind of thing we always hear.

Just yesterday after not having any Coca Cola for a week (decided not to drink it because of disagreements with the way they run their show) I decided I was thirsty and one would not hurt! So I'm just as much to blame.

We need to drag ourselves in and take affirmative action.... but I'm a little tired so first I'll go have some more Coca Cola, or actually maybe Pepsi is a better choice?
